This is a custom built-in wine cooler. This space used to be a TV cabinet with storage for DVDs and tapes. The client wanted to convert this room into his dining room. He drew up an idea of what he wanted for a custom built-in and we brought it to life! This is what it looked like before we started.

This was truly a custom piece because once we removed the old unit, we had to fit the cooler to the remaining space. It definitely took some “figurin” as I like to call it. We also had to figure out how to incorporate lights into the custom built-in, so we ran a LED strip light along the back side of the face frame in the open shelves area.

The stained wood top you see is solid oak and stained to match the dining room table, which is solid oak as well. The doors were built to match the kitchen cabinet doors and the hardware matches as well. Originally when we pushed the wine cooler back it stuck out about 2 or 3 inches because it was hitting the plug. We ended up using one of the recessed TV boxes so plugs would sit inside the wall and we were able to push the cooler back another 2 inches right where it needed to be.

Overall this was one of the most fun custom built-ins we have done.
